You’re consistent, showing up, and doing the things the marketing gurus say to do; the content batching, the SEO, the email list, the posting schedule.
And yet there’s this persistent, low-grade exhaustion underneath all of it. Like you’re running a race designed for someone else’s body.
If that feeling sounds familiar, I want to introduce you to the framework that completely changed how I think about building a brand, and how I now help my clients build theirs.
It’s called Human Design (and no, it’s not just a personality test).
The online business world has a template problem. There’s a dominant playbook going around right now; post daily, launch loudly, be everywhere somehow all at once, and it’s largely built around one specific energy type (I’m looking at you Generators/Mani-Gens). These are extremely high-output, always-on, momentum-driven energy types.
If that’s your natural way of operating, that advice probably works reasonably well for you! But if it’s not, you may spend years wondering what’s wrong with you. Why you can’t keep up. Why the strategy that works for her leaves you depleted and invisible.
| “Nothing is wrong with you. You’re just working against your own design.” |
Human Design gives you a map back to how you’re actually built to work, attract, and show up. And when your brand is built around that map instead of someone else’s template, everything gets easier.
Human Design is a system that synthesizes elements of multiple ancient and modern frameworks; astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, and quantum physics, into a single map of how you’re designed to move through the world.
If you don’t know your Human Design type yet, you can generate your free chart here.
What populates is called a BodyGraph (pictured below). It’s a visual map showing which energy centers are defined (gray colored in), which means you have consistent and reliable energy in those areas. The centers that are white/not colored in, means that they’re open center; this makes you more receptive to conditioning and have variable energy in these places.

From this map and chart, you get to understand your Type, Strategy, Authority, Profile, and more. I know…it’s a lot. And it all looks really overwhelming at first. Let’s simplify it into what actually matters for you as a business owner.
In my opinion, your Energy Type is one of the single most important elements of your chart. It tells you how your energy functions, how you’re designed to attract opportunities, and what sustainable success actually looks like for you! Here’s a plain-language breakdown below:
| Manifestor THE INITIATOR | You’re here to initiate! You have bursts of creative energy and the power to start things others can’t. Your strategy is to inform before you act, because keeping people in the loop reduces resistance and also opens doors. |
| Generator THE BUILDER | You’re the life force of the business world. You have sustainable, magnetic energy when you’re lit up by what you do. Your strategy is to respond rather than initiate, waiting for things that spark genuine excitement before saying yes. |
| Manifesting Generator THE MULTI-HYPHENATE | You’re a hybrid energy – multi-passionate, fast-moving, and designed to do things your own nonlinear way. You have Generator energy but Manifestor speed! You skip steps everyone else takes, and that’s a strength. |
| Projector THE GUIDE | You’re designed to guide, not generate. Your gift is seeing systems and people with extraordinary clarity. You work in focused bursts and thrive when you’re invited into the right rooms. Trying to keep up with Generator energy will burn you out every time (so remember to be invited before initiating) |
| Reflector THE MIRROR | You’re SO RARE – less than 1% of the population. You’re a mirror for the communities around you, with no consistently defined energy centers. You need time (ideally a lunar cycle) before making major decisions, and the right environment is everything for you. |
If you just read your type and felt something click into place, that’s the feeling I’m talking about! That recognition. That’s what we build your brand on.
I discovered Human Design over the pandemic – it was glossed over on a podcast I was listening to. I looked up my chart, found out I was a Projector, and immedaitely dove in as to what that meant.
Suddenly, so much clicked into place for me; my energy levels, my sensitivity, my approach to marketing. It all clicked into place. I purchased an expanded summary of my chart, and can vividly remember of feeling understood as I moved through it. I had tears streaming down my face with the affirmation and heart-warming response to myself of ‘nothing is actually wrong with me’.
From there, it changed everything. I decided to give my Projector-ness a whirl. I focused on being a guide, on building genuine relationships, on odentifying where I may have let a boundary be crossed and why bitterness showed up.
This world was built for Generators; a rat-race of chasing more success. When I realized my Projector energy just wasn’t fit for a 9-5, and that entrepreneurship WAS, everything made so much more sense. Thankfully, I had already made the decision a few years prior to begin my business. It just felt like more affirmation that I was on the right path.
Diving further into my chart, I’m designed to be recognized for depth, invited for my insight, and also trusted because of the relationships I build. When I stopped fighting that and started building my brand around that, I realized I wanted to help other business owners, specifically female business owners, to experience that same shift. And that’s why I began integrating it into my business.
I’m a 4/1 Energy Projector with Emotional Authority. Which means, among many other things, that I’m not designed to market loudly or constantly. So I kept my Human Design work very quiet, very minimal. I trusted that the right people would find me, and I’m continuing to see results from that trust.
Here’s where my work diverges from most HD practitioners. I focus on not just reading your chart for self-awareness purposes, but also using it as a strategic business and branding tool.
And here’s what I’ve learned from working with entrepreneurs across many type, profiles, and authorities: when your brand is misaligned with your design, you feel it. Marketing feels forced. Your content sounds like someone else. Your offers attract the wrong clients. You’re working hard but not working right.
When your brand is aligned with your human design, something different can shift:
This is what I do at Press & Palm. I read your chart, I learn your business, and I build a brand that sits at the intersection of both; building brands that feel like home. Not a template. Not a trend. A brand that’s structurally, visually, and strategically yours.
If you’ve ever felt like the rules of business weren’t written for someone like you, you were probably right.
And that’s not a disadvantage by any means. It’s an invitation to build something that works the way you work. To market in a way that feels sustainable instead of suffocates, and to have a brand that attracts people who are genuinely aligning with what you offer and how you offer it.
Human Design for business doesn’t give you this new set of rules to follow. It gives you permission to follow the ones already written into you.
“You were never supposed to build someone else’s business.
Human Design just helps you remember that.”
This is exactly where I start with every Press & Palm client. Before I touch colors or fonts or a mood board, we look at your Human Design chart together. We go through your energy type, your profile, your authority, your profile lines, and we use that to build a brand strategy that’s (genuinely) structurally yours.
If you’ve been feeling like you’re building a brand for someone else’s business, this might be the thing that changes that.
